Empowering Youth by Learning to Sew

In partnership with one of our most generous group clients, Carrousel Travel facilitated the purchase and donation of three sewing machines for the Batwa (Pygmy) community near Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in Uganda. The machines will be used in the craft section of the school to teach tailoring to young girls and boys. It is important that every donation has an element of empowering so that when young people leave the school they have some practical skills and they can actually make a living. Our local contact in Uganda said, “They were incredibly thankful and happy to receive such a generous gift. For such a community, these gestures are life changing.”
